HOME July 10 - Day Hike on Wasatch Crest Trail in the Guardsman's Pass Area. This trail is popular with bicyclists because on odd numbered days they can ride all the way into the next canyon called Millcreek. Today we took a very short hike (one hour) into the Guardsman's Pass Area in Big Cottonwood Canyon. We didn't see one other hiker or bicyclist!
We like to go into this area to find aspen bolete mushrooms, which are edible and very tasty. The trick is to get them before the flies do. Our hike was so short because we were literally attacked by flies and mosquitoes.
